One of the newest features of Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18317 (19H1) aside from Sticky Notes that really caught my eye was the new Dark/Light Theme Options.
In version 1809 (OS Build 17763) you only have two options: Choose your default app mode: Light or Dark.
In Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18317 (19H1) we now have more options to work with including a new Light Theme which I am pretty excited about. Firstly lets look at the new menu:
We now have 3 new options “Choose your color (Colour)” which allows you to choose between a Dark and Light or Custom Theme”. When you select Custom you can now choose your default Windows Mode and your default Application Mode. You can now have Dark Application Window with a Light Windows Theme. Firstly lets look at the Dark theme:
Not much has changed with the Dark Theme as it is still the same as the previous feature release. Now lets keep our default Windows mode set to Dark and keep our Application mode set to Light:
As you can see the Taskbar is still using the Dark Theme but the Application Window has now turned Light which is pretty cool. Now lets switch to a full Light Theme for both Applications and Windows, this is where I got pretty excitied:
Now the Taskbar takes on a beautiful new Light Theme with brand new black Icons for all applications & tools. Everything from the Taskbar, Start Menu and Applications remain Light which is visually a breath of fresh air as far as Windows 10 goes.
These theme changes will be beneficial to those which visual impairments or those who just like to use Dark or Light themes. I look forward to this update in the future feature release.
