** Update **

After getting in touch with Microsoft about this issue they reached out to me to let me know that the Your Phone App is only compatible with Android Phones running 7.0 (Nougat). For more information you can read more on the Your Phone App Help Page.

Setting up Microsoft’s Your Phone app on Windows 10 has proven to be quite difficult for certain Irish customers including myself. When I launch the application and add my phone number I receive a text message to download the application called YourPhoneCompanion.

After clicking the link in the text message it opens a page which asks me to open the the App Store. When I select Open it redirects me to the Microsoft Edge Browser which is not the correct app.

I attempted to set this up again multiple times and each time I receive a new URL it gives the same results. So lets take a look at this step by step below and see if anyone else can relate to this problem:

The first page asking me to continue after singing in.
The next page telling me I need the YourPhoneCompanion App
I entered my mobile number and pressed Send
This page telling me that they have sent the text. The aka.ms/yourphonecompanion link redirects to the App Store.
This URL will now redirect me to the App Store
Pressing Cancel here and pressing Download App gives the same results.
After pressing Open you are then redirected to Microsoft Edge App
Tested on the following build of Windows 10

I am not sure if this issue is just limited to Ireland but considering the application has been released to the public it should work. After writing this article I will then share it with Microsoft and see if they can shed some light on the issue.

My mobile carrier is the 3 Network and I am using an iPhone 8.
